VTOB delivered laptops and Micro:Bit kits to beneficiary schools. The devices are supplied free of cost to support digital and coding literacy in schools with an aim to enable children with problem solving skills through coding, equip children with digital and coding skills, supplement the ICT goals of the Ministry of Education and Skills Development and complement the nation’s effort in equipping schools with adequate number of digital devices to enhance children’s access to digital literacy. The 35 teachers from 10 beneficiary schools of Gasa, Punakha and Wangduephodrang under the DLI Phase 1 were successfully trained for 7 Days from 8-14 July, 2023 on Coding and Digital Skills. Digital Literacy Initiative project is an initiative of VTOB with support from Dariu Foundation and in consultation with the MoESD. Specifically, the Digital Literacy Initiative project will equip more than 38 schools across the country with 710 laptops and provide teacher training to 195 teachers on Coding with an aim to impart coding skills to 7600 students in their schools over the 3 years project tenure.
