Children with severe disabilities from VTOB are deriving advantages from this project: A Multi-Country Study on Educational Innovations for Out of School Children (OOSC) and Children at Risk of Dropping Out in Bhutan. On August 26, 2023, VTOB participated in a meeting for evaluation and collaborative idea exchange organized by Paro College of Education. This event involved three principal partners: Changangkha Middle Secondary School, Yangchen Gatshel Higher Secondary School, and VTOB Foundation (VTOB), all actively engaged in executing strategies to support Out-of-School Children (OOSC) and young individuals with disabilities. The meeting also saw the presence of school principals, educators specializing in Special Education Needs (SEN), institution facilitators, a representative from the Ministry of Education and Skills Development, as well as parents representing the children and youth benefiting from these intervention programs. The discussions spanned a comprehensive full-day session. Each partner seized the opportunity to detail the current progress of their respective intervention initiatives, shared instances of success, and underscored the obstacles they encountered. Furthermore, all participants, including parents, expressed their apprehensions and queries. This endeavor is made possible through the backing of KIX IDRC (Canada) and is expected to conclude by September 2023. Each institute presented their progress, and had question-answer session with personnel with MOESD.
