Empowering the Next Generation: A Four-Year Journey in Digital Literacy (2022-2026) VTOB Foundation with funding support from Dairu Foundation and Regula and Beat Curti Foundation in collaboration with Ministry of Education and Skills Development ventured into remarkable growth of a digital literacy initiative from its pilot year in 2022 through to 2026. The projects has been significantly expanding with increasing number of schools, teachers trained, and students with the digital tools distributed. From a pilot project benefiting a handful of schools, the initiative has grown exponentially, reaching thousands of students and making a tangible impact on digital education. Key achievements include: Schools Covered: The program has expanded from 8 schools in 2022 to a cumulative total of 68 by 2025. Students Impacted: The number of students who have benefited has skyrocketed from zero in the pilot phase to over 25,478 cumulatively. Resources Deployed: The initiative has distributed 770 laptops and 310 Micro:bit devices to schools, providing essential tools for digital learning. According to the Project Director, based on the survey conducted it ascertains, "the DLI Program enhanced ICT learning and supported initiatives like UPSHIFT and Eduten, while also enriching others subjects-mathematics, languages, arts science, geography, and social studies-through practical, technology-driven activities and additionally, it also fostered cross-curricular learning, creativity, and improved student engagement across schools."
